TBS likes Engvall's work
TBS has decided not to mess with success, picking up a third season of its solidly rated sitcom The Bill Engvall Show.
The cable channel has ordered 10 more episodes of the show, which stars comedian Engvall as a family counselor and Nancy Travis as his wife.
The new season will debut in the summer of 2009, but fans of the show won't have to wait quite that long for a fix: TBS is also producing two holiday episodes of the series to air in December.
"There's something about this cast and this show that gives you a good feeling inside, which is probably why it's won the hearts of so many viewers," Turner's Michael Wright says.
Engvall, who also co-created the show, returns the praise to TBS: "Working so closely with people you care so dearly about and with a network that gives you such unbridled support is truly what makes this show work."
The rest of the cast — Tim Meadows, Jennifer Lawrence, Graham Patrick Martin and Skyler Gisondo — will return for the new season.
