Lonely Pines

Lonely Pines is the blues and soul trio of Rick Goodwin, Mike Marbut and Randy Wood. They've been together for three years and counting, playing locally and regionally. With a sound that switches anywhere from Motown to Memphis and everywhere in between — they even play an awesome Kinks cover — Lonely Pines add a contemporary and eclectic spin to timeless blues and rock classics.

Sounds Like: Memphis plugged into the biggest amp you can find, Canned Heat, Stevie Ray Vaughn

McPherson Struts

McPherson Struts is a band that proves once and for all that Huey Lewis wasn't joking when he said that the heart of rock n' roll was still beating. They're a whiskey-gargling, fuel-injected, dual-quad dose of American psychobilly madness and a real blast to see live. They've shared the stage with artists such as Lee Rocker from Stray Cats and George Thorogood, and play locally at bars like The Peerless Saloon. This is chunky, hot-blooded rock at its best.

Sounds Like: Theodore Roosevelt riding a T-Rex while pulling off a sweet guitar solo, The Sonics, AC/DC

Ethan and the Ewox

Ethan and the Ewox are no stranger to the Anniston music scene, hailing from Jacksonville and local legends in their own right. They've since relocated to Atlanta, but are returning to the area to rock out the festival with their own unique blend of progressive and soulful rock n' roll. Front man Ethan Baker is a lyrical and vocal heavyweight; his clever and insightful songwriting has been winning the band fans from as far away as New York and Colorado. Ethan and the Ewox have opened for acts like The Dave Matthews Band and Drivin n' Cryin, in addition to playing local venues such as The Smoking Moose. Be sure to check these guys out whether you're into folk, rock, funk or any combination thereof, the Ewox will be sure to entertain.

Sounds Like: The beautiful mutant love child of Stone Temple Pilots and Dave Matthews with a dash of funkadelic psychosis.

Distant Cousins

The current line-up of Distant Cousins has been playing together over three years now, but founder Jim Marsh has played every instrument he could get his hands on for 24 years. Running a weekly show airing on WJXS TV-24 out of Jacksonville called "Pickin' and Singin' with The Cousins," Distant Cousins brings a contemporary bluegrass sound to Noble Street, featuring vocals by Kelli Johnson. They play everything from Guns N' Roses covers to folksy ballads in the vein of Alison Krauss.

Sounds Like: The best backwoods pick and grin you've ever been to, Yonder Mountain String Band, Union Station

Caribbean Chrome

Caribbean Chrome is the duet of Rod Conaway and Tracy Tyler, kicking out straightforward calypso jams and island arrangements of songs by classic musicians like Jimmy Buffett. They're a unique sound in an area saturated in rock and bluegrass, so be sure to check out their set for something refreshingly different from what you're used to hearing.

Sounds Like: Kicking back with a margarita on a beach in Key West, JAXPAN, PANgea

Keitha Williams

Anniston's own Keitha Williams opens up the musical side of the Noble Street Festival, bringing with her 30 years of experience playing all over the South in addition to jamming at The Victoria restaurant every other Wednesday night. Keitha's singer-songwriter roots show through in her folksy original tunes, but she's also known to play covers of songs by artists ranging from Bruce Springsteen to Crosby, Stills and Nash. She's opened for greats such as Warren Zevon and John Lee Hooker, and is sure to get the festival off to a rocking start.

Sounds Like: A smoke-filled bar after midnight just before last call.
