The Oxford Sting, a 12U Dixie Youth All Star team from Oxford, competed in and won the USSSA State Travel tournament held June 13-15 in Hoover. After finishing pool play with a 1-1-1 record, the Sting had to play back-to-back-to-back games on Sunday for the championship. Winning pitchers on Sunday were Colton Turner, Dakota Beane and Dax Winningham. Kenyn Richey hit three homeruns in the tournament while Turner added two. Marvin's T-ball team of Wellborn made it to the semi-finals in the 2008 Munford Invitational T-ball tournament in May 2008.

Teams from Munford, Lincoln and Wellborn participated in the tournament held in May.
