Anniston High School received the East Alabama Baseball Umpires Association Butch Chastain Sportsmanship award recently. The award was presented by Larry Stubbs to Anniston baseball coach Glenn Barefoot. Umpires left to right are, Derrick 'Shrek' Vanover and Phillip Kirsch.

The Boys and Girls Club of East Central Alabama summer programs are to be May 27-August 1. The Boys and Girls Clubs offer educational and fun field trips and sporting activities. The ages are six-18 with a cost of $25 weekly. Registration is to begin Monday. Call 236-7050 for more information.
