Students in the gifted classes of Weaver, Alexandria, Pleasant Valley and White Plains elementary schools have been studying the history of flight in their classes during this school year.
Recently Jacob Davis, a Weaver fourth-grade student, arranged for a helicopter from Wallace State to land on the school premises. Dustin Gaston and Mr. Jones of Wallace State spoke to the students about all aspects of flying, careers and the education needed to become a pilot. Students enjoyed the actual landing and take-off, and being allowed to get in the helicopter and manipulate the controls.

Oxford Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade art students' work recently was selected to appear on note cards. Tim Lewis, left, and Tristan Lackey are proud to show their artwork. The note cards are available for purchase to benefit the student art program.

Students with Sen. Jeff Sessions at a recent Oxford football game included Mason Love, Connor Syer, Emily Pennington, Emma McCullough, Chance Adams and Brody Syer.
