White Plains Elementary School hosted Mike Artell, author, illustrator and cartoonist on Sept. 26 for a school-wide performance and teacher workshops. From New Orleans, Artell is the creator of numerous children’s books that teach drawing and cartooning, as well as books that encourage children to protect our environment. After sketching their pictures along with Artell, the students were asked to write a story about their favorite illustration.
