On Sept. 23 and 24, Tyco Fire Suppression & Building Products management team was hard at work on the grill preparing a feast for their employees in appreciation of their hard work and dedication to quality and safety during the previous business year. The feast included ribeye steaks, baked potatoes, Texas toast, salad, iced tea and dessert. Steaks were cooked on the grill at 11 p.m. for third-shift employees on Sept. 23 and again at 11 a.m. on Sept. 24. The celebration also included awarding 10 employees with new large stainless steel gas barbecue grills in a drawing held on Sept. 24.

Bob Smith, director of operations of the Tyco-Anniston facility, challenged employes to obtain a scrap rate of 2% (a world class achievement for iron-sand casting foundries) or less during a single month by both of the production departments. It was a difficult challenge, but the management team and employees of all departments worked together to accomplish the goal. The challenge was met during the month of August. Additionally, the end of August brought about a total of 1,452,084 man-hours without a loss time accident.

Tyco Fire Suppression & Building Products is an iron-sand casting foundry and manufacturing facility near Bynum-Leatherwood Road in Anniston. The facility employs more than 175 people.

The Tyco management team would like to take this opportunity to once again express our appreciation to all the employees at the Anniston facility for their loyalty, professionalism and hard work.

Tyco would also like to express our thanks to the Deli and Meat Department of Foodland in Alexandria for providing and preparing a wonder meal.
