In July the TOPS#AL 502, Lineville weight loss support group celebrated with an open house at Ms. Anita's Restaurant in Lineville.
The group used a Western theme with members dressed in cowboy hats and jeans. The tables were decorated with small cowboy hats, miniature horse figurines and old west décor. Leader Jan Causey welcomed everyone to the open house. Ann Morris, song leader, sang a song after the welcome. Janet Waldrop gave the members some tips for losing weight.
A skit titled, 'A Fistful of Doughnuts,' was performed. The characters of the skit included Wyatt Burp played by Shirley Sprayberry; Bad Guys: Grease Gang played by Willene Bailey and Judy Nelson; Doc Hollandaise played by Sabrina Holloway, and Tattletale played by Angela Gordon. The skit poked fun at Western legends and introduced visitors to the book, The Choice is Mine.
Area captain, Jan Francis, was present at the open house. She presented a program on 'Move to the Music.' The Alabama coordinator, Shirley Sprayberry, gave the closing remarks. The support group meets in the chapel of Lineville Nursing and Rehab at 6 p.m. each Thursday. Call Shirley Sprayberry at 396-5623 or Jan Causey at 396-2703 for more information.
