The 8th annual Weaver Athletic Association golf tournament is to be at 9 a.m. today at Cane Creek Golf course. The cost is $50 per person and includes lunch. Mulligan is $10 for two 4-man scrambles. Prizes to be awarded. All proceeds to benefit the Weaver Athletic Association.

The dressbarn in Oxford is to host a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society with the sale of a plush dog "Chloe" beginning Oct. 1 through Dec. 15. The plush dog is to retail for $5 and dressbarn in Oxford will donate $2.50 from the sale of each dog to the American Cancer Society.
