The General William Henry Forney No. 468, United Daughters of the Confederacy recently held a dedication ceremony for Katherine Hindman Johnson, former chapter president and former John H. Forney district director, in Edgemont Cemetery.

Sonja M. Randle, Anniston UDC chapter president led the service, with assistance from Helen M. Johnson, John H. Forney district director and Linda W. Haynes, John H. Forney district chaplain. Bailey Griffin, member of Dudley Snow Rangers No. 955, Children of the Confederacy, unveiled the marker.

A ceremonial wreath was placed at the gravesite by General William Forney chapter members Wanda T. Tucker and Ann J. Harbeston. Members present at the ceremony included Wanda Tucker, Larry Lee, Patrick Reaves, Bill Snowden, Wayne Jennings, Delilah Brannon, Mary Frances McGhehee, Frances Elliot, Laura Howell, Carolyn Parrish Judy Franklin, Eli Henderson, Ann Harbeston, Deborah Blackmon, Thomas Blackmon holding Elissa Blackmon, Pete Sexton, Ruth Sexton, Helen Johnson Bailey Griffin, Linda Haynes and Sonja Randle.
