Army Pvt. Zuykeyia N. Glover, a 2007 graduate of Anniston High School, recently graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. She is the niece of Jean Green of Anniston.

Army National Guard Pvt. William C. McBeath Jr. recently graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. He is the son of William and Debra McBeath of Oxford.

Navy Seaman Recruit Tory J. Hill, grandson of John D. and Juliette K. Turner of Talladega, recently completed the U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2008 graduate of Talladega High School.

Shawn D. Green, a 2006 graduate of Weaver High School, recently graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Leader's Training Course at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Sheila Green of Jacksonville.

Joey R. Reid, a 1994 graduate of Woodland High School, recently joined the U.S. Army under the Delayed Entry Program. He was scheduled to report for basic training in August. He is the son of Tommy and Wilma Reid of Weaver.

Army National Guard Pvt. Amy S. Record, a 2007 graduate of a home school program, recently graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. She is the daughter of Andrea Record of Jacksonville.
