Students honored by University of Montevallo
Six students from Calhoun County were honored recently during the University of Montevallo's Honors Day Convocation.
Students were recognized for outstanding academic performance and for receiving scholarships.
Two Anniston Students received honors. William T. Baldwin was awarded sophomore honors, and Elizabeth F. Sellers received sophomore highest honors. During the ceremony, both Baldwin and Sellers were recognized as Montevallo Ambassador Program Scholarship recipients.
Sarah R. Williams of Wellington was initiated into the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society at the event.
Laura S. Wadsworth of Oxford received senior highest honors and was recognized as the recipient of a Presidential Honors Scholarship and a Freshman Honors Scholarship. She also was initiated into the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society.
Courtney C. Bennett and Mya L. McGee, both of Jacksonville, were recognized during the ceremony. Bennett received freshman highest honors, the Carmichael Library Book Review Award and the President's award for Excellence in Writing. She also was recognized as an Alumni Honors Scholarship recipient.
McGee was recognized for receiving the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship.
