Richard Eugene Stedham Jr. was honored with the President's Cup (technical division) by Gadsden State President Renée Culverhouse at the honors day program held at the McClellan Center in May.

Stedham, a student from Saks, coordinated the successful launch of a rocket-propelled aircraft for his Gadsden State Community College class assembling guidance, control and aerodynamics teams to accomplish the flight. He is a student in the electronic engineering technology program and has a 4.0 GPA. Stedham has been on the President's list and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa national Honor Society. He has worked with the Toys for Tots campaign, supports the Big Oak Ranch and is active in animal welfare programs.

Stedham has high praise for the faculty and staff at Gadsden State. "The instructors have gone above and beyond to assist me with my classwork," he said. "My academic achievements have come from hard work, dedication and the quality of instruction."
