A celebration was held on Aug. 24, 2008, for Jay and Joan Daugherty in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. The reception was held at the Hokes Bluff Lions Club Community Center. There were 172 attendees at the celebration.
The couple was married Sept. 6, 1958, in Hokes Bluff. They have three children and six grandchildren.
