Abney/Kwarteng engagement

Derek and Gloria Abney of Anniston announce the engagement of their daughter, Shonika Abney, to Prince Kwarteng, son of Comfort Owusu and Augustine Kwarteng of Atlanta.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Wilson McKinney and Margaret McKinney of Anniston and the late Jonnie Abney and Lola Abney of Anniston.

Miss Abney is a graduate of Wellborn High School, Auburn University and Troy University. She is employed by Columbus Health Department WIC Program.

Mr. Kwarteng is a graduate of Westlake High School, Ft. Valley State University and the University of Texas. He is employed by El Paso Corporation.

The wedding will be Oct. 4, 2008, at 4 p.m. EST. at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church in Phenix City.

If you wish to include a photo, please submit original prints that are at least 3x5 inches and in focus. We cannot return photos, but will hold them for 30 days after publication for pick-up.
