Bynum/Ward wedding

Joanna Pirkle Bynum and Clifford "Skip" Clarence Ward III were married July 19th at 6 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Anniston. Mr. Tim Embry and the Rev. Woodfin K. Grove performed the ceremony. Music was provided by James Roberts, piano and organ, solos by Elizabeth Fairley and Patti Townsend.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Bynum III of Oxford.

Parents of the groom are Chuck Ward of Oxford and Mary Ward Smitherman of Hoover.

Grandparents of the bride are the late George Pirkle of Oxford, the late Joseph P. Bynum Jr. of Oneonta, Ms. Vera Pirkle of Oxford, Ms. Martha Bynum of Oneonta, the late Christine Ward of Oxford and Mr. Cliff Ward of Oxford.

Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Varner, Kinzi Crow, Brittany Heath, Rachel McCombs and Jaime Miller. Junior bridesmaid was Tabitha Tripp.

Flower girl was Anna Leigh Embry.

The maid of honor was Leigh Bynum Bern and Leslie Bynum Embry.

Groomsmen were Rob Smith, Peter Richey, Todd Pate, Josh Randall, Michael Evans, Brian Cairo, Jeremy Cruse Jr. and Landon Embry.

Ring bearers were Porter Embry, Tyler and Todd Bern.

Program attendants were David and Aaron Pock.

The best man was Chuck Ward.

The bride wore a custom-made ivory raw silk gown with a deep V in the back followed by tiny silk buttons and a long train. She wore a cathedral-length ivory veil with a blusher and carried a bouquet of red roses, green hydrangeas and green orchids.

After a trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in Oxford.
