Four Cleburne County Board of Education members met for three minutes Thursday evening for their second meeting of the week to vote on three hires and four field trips.

Board members Donya Beam, Jerry Cash, Ben Jones and Lonny Watson unanimously approved hiring Brittany Williamson as teacher at Pleasant Grove Elementary School, Denise Braggs as English and reading teacher and JaCee Smith as special education teacher at Cleburne County Elementary School.

The board members additionally approved four field trips.

Board member Lonny Watson asked how many more positions need to be filled at the schools. Superintendent Claire Dryden said there was just one left, a media specialist. Board member Jerry Cash also mentioned that seats are missing from some of the lunchroom tables. He was concerned someone might fall and hurt themselves, Cash said.

Dryden said she would notify David Howle, who takes care of building maintenance for the school system.

The next scheduled board meeting is Oct. 3 at Cleburne County Middle School at 6:30 p.m.
