Anniston man dies after Wednesday night shooting

A 46-year-old Anniston man died from multiple gunshot wounds late last night. Police responding to reports of several gunshots at 1030 Cobb Avenue around 10:45 p.m. found Carnell Hall, 46, wounded nearby, reported Anniston police. Investigators said Hall had been shot at least once and was lying in the doorway of a business on the 1000 block of West 15th Street, when police arrived. He was transported to Regional Medical Center where he died about an hour later, said police. Hall’s death marks the 10th murder of 2008 in Anniston, the 11th in the county overall. |
