The FBI has identified a suspect they say is wanted in connection with yesterday's bank robbery and kidnapping in Lenlock.

Authorities are seeking Gabriel Dewayne Rice, 20, of the Gadsden area.

Wachovia Bank is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for yesterday's robbery, federal authorities announced this afternoon.

Federal agents and local law enforcement, as of this morning, were still looking for two men who robbed the Wachovia bank in Lenlock yesterday then kidnapped two women from a local neighborhood.

Anniston police Chief John Dryden said the investigation, led by the FBI, is progressing but no arrests had been made yet.

Witnesses were able to describe the getaway car and tell police which direction it went. Officers found it soon after abandoned in the driveway of a home in the 300 block of East Glade Road, less than a mile from the bank.

Nearby neighbors told police they'd witnessed a kidnapping as suspects matching descriptions of the alleged bank robbers forced an elderly woman and her caretaker into a silver Nissan Altima. The men apparently forced the women to drive them north to Gadsden.

A short time later the men got out of the car and fled behind Crestwood Cemetery, on the east side of Gadsden. The two women then drove to the Glencoe Police Department just after 11 a.m. Etowah County deputies spent Wednesday afternoon following leads in east Gadsden, where the two men abandoned the kidnap victims and the stolen car.

Police said an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the bank.

Anyone with information regarding the case should contact the FBI at (205) 326-6166 or the Anniston Police Department at (256) 238-1800.
