Oxford man arrested in Hobson City robbery

An Oxford man was arrested Monday in connection with an armed robbery.

Christopher Surles, 18, was arrested at his home Monday morning on one charge of first-degree robbery, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office. He is currently being held in Calhoun County Jail on $250,000 bond.

In the original case, the victim was in a car outside Club Status in Hobson City on June 25 at 9 p.m. when the suspect approached the vehicle and began talking to the victim. The suspect then pulled out a gun and told the victim to exit the car, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The suspect allegedly stole the victim's debit card, his wallet, and his pants before fleeing the scene.
