JSU's Rhetta signs with Kansas City Chiefs

KANSAS CITY — Jacksonville State wide receiver Taurean Rhetta has signed a free agent contract to play for the Kansas City Chiefs and reported to Rookie Mini Camp on Thursday.

Rhetta is the third Gamecock to sign with an NFL team in the last two years and the ninth under head coach Jack Crowe.

Rhetta was a Second Team All-OVC selection in 2006 and led JSU with 27 receptions for 363 yards and two touchdowns during his senior season.

The Birmingham native finished his career with 91 receptions for 1,586 yards and 12 touchdowns to become just the sixth receiver in JSU history with 1,500 yards.
