ALEXANDER CITY — Two men drowned in Alabama lakes, one of them a 23-year-old who drowned in Lake Martin.

Officer Mark Fuller of the Alabama Marine Police said Kevin Jang was on a boat with six friends in the Sandy Creek area near Dadeville on Sunday when he jumped into the water at about 1 p.m. and never resurfaced. The body was recovered about two hours later.

Also on Sunday, a Calhoun County man drowned in Lake Cheaha. Cleburne County deputy coroner Ben McKnight said the cause of death for Jesus Garcia appeared to be accidental drowning.

Blair Hadley of Talladega pulled Garcia from the water after being alerted he had gone under, but emergency workers were unable to revive him.
