MOBILE, Ala. -- Oil from an exploded rig in the Gulf of Mexico could be transported west of the Mississippi River by developing ocean currents, according to a federal projection.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's mapped trajectory of the oil spill through 6 p.m. today shows eastern Louisiana, including the river delta and Chandeleur Sound, under the most imminent threat.
