Madison police recovered more than 70 pounds of marijuana and arrested two people after a routine traffic stop Wednesday, police said.

Wednesday, around 4:50 p.m., two officers conducted the traffic stop near Wall Triana Highway and Madison Boulevard, said Madison police Lt. Jim Cooke. After officers talked with the two people in the car, Cooke said an investigation took place and two back-up officers showed up to help with the investigation.
