The Gadsden Times reports that Governor Bob Riley expects federal aid for Alabama counties that suffered tornado damage over the weekend.
After touring the path of Saturday night’s tornado that cut through Marshall and DeKalb counties, Gov. Bob Riley said he thinks storm damage exceeds the level needed for federal assistance to be granted.
“I can’t imagine we’re not going to make that,” Riley said of the $5.8 million statewide damage figure required to receive federal assistance.
