The state's real estate industry continued to struggle last year, with total home sales and median selling prices falling from their 2009 levels.

According to new data from the Alabama Center for Real Estate, home sales fell 4.4 percent in Alabama in 2010. There were 36,234 home sold in 2010, compared to 37,918 in 2009.
